Three BA Athletes join USA Swimming's Scholastic All-America Team

Chad Dillon

Last week, USA Swimming announced the complete list of 2023-24 Scholastic All-America recipients. The list consists of 1,790 athletes in grades 9-12 who maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average (GPA) and met any of the competition criteria* during the qualifying period of September 1, 2023 – August 31, 20 24. Pool swimmers must have swum an individual pool time equal to or faster than the 2023 Winter Junior National qualifying time in any individual event during the Scholastic All-America qualifying period with the qualifying times in SWIMS.  Compared to last year, more than 650 additional athletes earned the honor. View the full list here.

The following individuals from BA earned the right to be on USA’s Scholastic All-America Team:

  • Lucas Arnaldo
  • Maris Emmert
  • Rocco Tajc

To alert athletes, families, and clubs of the individual Scholastic All-America qualifications, the USA Swimming SWIMS database offered pop-up notifications when users logged in. This feature allowed members and their associated clubs to see who qualified, how to complete an application, and the deadline.

All qualifying athletes receive a certificate and bag tag. Three and four-time senior class honorees will receive a special gift. All awards will be shipped this fall.

Congratulations to all these scholar-athletes on their achievements and the coaches and parents who help support them every day.
